Since 2012 iDebate Rwanda has worked tirelessly to build a new generation of politically engaged Rwandan citizens who are not afraid to speak their minds. iDebate believes that democracy starts with civic education and is achieved through critical thinking and freedom of speech. In a country where blind obedience to authority and lack of critical thinking has led to mass violence, it is of the utmost importance to develop critical thinking from a young age and give the youth the tools to solve problems creatively, without resulting to violence.
