BizLab Phase II

During BizLab’s pilot phase, we discovered that providing sufficient support for the role of Program Manager is of central importance to long-term sustainability. As BizLab has grown, so have the responsibilities of our Program Manager, and at the same time, JMU’s graduate assistantship (GA position) for our current Program Manager, which is at no cost to BizLab, comes to an end in April 2021. Having laid out consistent project processes, our next phase of growth is effectively refining those processes with an end goal of becoming fully self-sustaining. To retain the management skills and knowledge gained while minimizing costs, our best strategy is to obtain funds to continue the part-time Program Manager position while re-applying for another graduate assistantship to serve as an Assistant Manager. Funding to maintain our Program Manager will be critical for BizLab to maximize efficiency and quality while best serving our JMU student employees and local businesses.
