Student Opportunities with the Center for International Stabilization & Recovery

This year, we hope to provide internships and professional development opportunities for students by raising $4,000. CISR cannot do all the things we aim to achieve without our dedicated student employees and interns. Our goal is to provide students with vital experience at CISR by offering opportunities to meet with subject-matter experts, connect with people in the field, get hands-on international experience, contribute to journal articles, conduct research, and ultimately, make a difference in the world. We hope CISR students get the most out of their JMU experience by being a part of our work and interacting with our community.

A CISR student employee reflects on their experience below:

“Since joining the CISR team I have enjoyed developing a broader knowledge of international affairs and humanitarian work. I've also enjoyed working with clients in different countries and being hands-on in the publication of The Journal of Conventional Weapons Destruction. Although I miss being in the office and seeing my co-workers [due to working remotely], I have been able to remain in the fold of things.
